Jon Morley

Jon has over 15 years of employee relations and employment legal experience, initially as an employment lawyer and then as an in-house employee relations manager and consultant.

Jon has practised employment law and industrial relations with leading law firm Allens Arthur Robinson and boutique employment law firm, Australian Business Lawyers. Jon gained “hands on” corporate workplace relations experience when he joined the Coles Group of companies in 2006 as a State HR Advisor. In this role, amongst other things, Jon was responsible for complex employee relations case management, including investigations, across a large range of retail companies. From 2008 to 2013 Jon was Target’s National Workplace Relations Manager, responsible for negotiating and implementation of Target’s enterprise bargaining agreements, industrial relations strategies, managing and advising in relation to complex cases and the management of employment litigation.


In 2013 Jon was appointed as a Director of Wise Workplace Solutions. Jon is highly regarded by his Government and private sector clients for his pragmatic, cost effective and legally compliant approach to successfully meeting their employee relations objectives. In this role, Jon has worked closely with CEOs, senior organisational leaders, and HR and employee relations stakeholders, including to:

Conduct high profile workplace investigations, assessments and reviews for large Government organisations and top 100 ASX listed companies across the banking, finance, health, and retail sectors, focusing on complaints of bullying, harassment, and inappropriate workplace conduct.

Advise and implement strategies to manage complex workplace conflict matters in a practical, sustainable and legally-compliant manner.

Assist large corporate clients to successfully implement large scale organisational and structural changes.

Conduct workplace audits and cultural reviews for organisations, and provide all of the necessary support to address underlying workplace conflict issues through targeted practical recommendations and follow-up actions.

Jon has completed Bachelors of Law (Honours) and Arts at Adelaide University, as well as a Master of Arts (Foreign Affairs and Trade) at Monash University, Graduate Diploma in Labour Relations Law at Melbourne University, and Certificate IV in Government Investigations. Jon maintains a current legal practising certificate and is a Licensed Investigator.
